The German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI) has presented our SAMRINA outdoor luminaire as a best-practice example of plastics recycling in one of its guides to plastics recycling.
With the SAMRINA luminaire we achieve the goal of replacing as many primary raw materials as possible with secondary raw materials, while maintaining the same high quality and durability of the products. The ground spike luminaires are mainly made of LyondellBasell's Schuladur® GF30 plastic, which consists of 35% recycled raw materials. The proportion of recycled material accounts for 17 % of the total mass of the product.
Replacing primary raw materials with secondary raw materials has a double effect. Firstly, waste and residual materials can be returned to a functioning circular economy, resulting in less plastic waste being released into the environment. Secondly, the use of secondary raw materials reduces the need for primary materials. This reduces the ecological footprint of the product while maintaining its quality.
