The Delta Bike Cube Store in Wettenberg grew out of the cycling equipment mail-order business founded by Thomas Langner in the early 1990s. Today, the bike shop, with two branches, is a major draw for cycling enthusiasts and those who aspire to be. Spanning over 1700 m² of retail space, the store not only offers leading brands but, above all, a highly motivated and competent team that regularly participates in training and stays on top of the latest trends. To meet increasing customer demand, Managing Director Thomas Langner decided to expand the retail space. And on January 17, 2020, the new branch in Wettenberg opened its doors as the Delta Bike Cube Store Wettenberg.

Project highlights at a glance:

• Harmoniously combined ambient lighting, accent lighting, and standard-compliant workshop lighting

The shop’s minimalist design relies primarily on organic materials: wood and plants create a pleasantly inviting atmosphere without being intrusive. The black railings, ventilation pipes, and display areas are understated, allowing the bicycles to remain the focus. This also allows our SLV lights to blend harmoniously into the design concept and provide organic lighting for the shop.

In the workshop, however, owner and Managing Director Langner is focussed entirely on functionality: here compliant workspace lighting is the crucial challenge to be overcome, with our GLENOS Profile Pendant Light with its 6600 lm output providing the optimal solution. The so-called UGR value is of particular importance: UGR stands for Unified Glare Rating, The value indicates whether and how strong a lighting system produces glare, from a certain viewing position. This is influenced not only by the light itself but also by the characteristics of the space.
