Sustainability Report 2026

All business activities at SLV Lighting Group GmbH are based on our shared group values: responsibility, respect, passion and reliability. We are constantly working to take sustainability aspects into account throughout our value chain and to integrate them into our business processes.

To the 2026 Sustainability Report
We are convinced that our strategy will have a positive long-term impact on society, the environment, and our economic performance. As the SLV Lighting Group, we focus on five strategic directions: **Customer focus** : Installers, lighting designers, architects, wholesalers and many more – they are all at the heart of our activities. **Digital Transformation** : We are driving digital transformation through a state-of-the-art digital infrastructure and using AI for efficiency and a seamless shopping experience. **Social values** : We embrace social responsibility through a focus on responsible procurement. **Striving for excellence** : Ensuring the highest quality of our products and our work. **Cultural (R) evolution** : Promoting an agile learning culture, an inclusive working environment and attractive development opportunities.

Our strategy

Our sustainability strategy is based on the results of a dual materiality analysis. In this process, we examined both our impact on people and the environment, as well as the resulting risks and opportunities for our company. This enables us to focus our resources specifically on the issues that are particularly relevant to our stakeholders and the long-term success of our company.

Mitigating climate change, promoting the circular economy and demonstrating social responsibility are key areas of focus. You can find out more in our 2026 Sustainability Report.

Climate change

The effects of climate change are being felt worldwide. That is why we are focusing on the areas where we, as a company, can make a measurable contribution. By systematically tracking our greenhouse gas emissions, setting specific reduction targets and making continuous improvements throughout our value chain, we are laying the foundations for well-informed climate action.

In doing so, we take into account direct emissions from our own activities (Scope 1), indirect emissions from purchased energy (Scope 2) and other emissions along our value chain, such as those from transport and logistics (Scope 3).

Our key priorities in this regard include optimising logistics processes, expanding the use of renewable energy, developing packaging solutions that use less material and have a higher recycling content, and creating energy-efficient and long-lasting lighting solutions. At the same time, we use Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) to increase transparency regarding product-related emissions and identify further potential for reduction along our value chain.

Sustainable Packaging

Optimising our packaging is a key part of our materials management. Our focus is on reducing resource consumption, increasing the proportion of recycled materials and continuously improving our packaging processes.

Since 2020, we have reduced the use of plastic in our packaging by 99 per cent and replaced numerous components with paper-based alternatives. Plastics are now only used where technical or functional requirements make this necessary. At the same time, we are constantly evaluating alternative materials and packaging solutions.

Our shipping packaging is also being continuously optimised. Using an on-demand packaging system, boxes are tailored to the size of each order. This helps to reduce empty space and unnecessary packaging materials. Around 40 per cent of our shipping packaging is already produced in this way.

Since 2025, our product packaging has also been gradually being given a new design. The new packaging consists of at least 70 per cent recycled cardboard, some of which is FSC®-certified. By the end of 2025, 84 per cent of our product packaging had already been converted accordingly. The combination of a higher proportion of recycled material and lower packaging weight reduces our annual paper consumption by around 130 tonnes. This is equivalent to more than 2,500 mature trees or a small wooded area the size of a football pitch. Product protection, stability and functionality remain key requirements for our packaging solutions.

Circular economy

The circular economy is a key component of our product and materials strategy. Our aim is to keep materials within the value chain for as long as possible, to use resources efficiently and to extend the service life of our products. In doing so, we consider the entire product life cycle – from material selection and product development through to use, repair, reuse and recycling.

Resource efficiency: The SAMIRA, SIMA and RUBA luminaires contain a high proportion of recycled plastic. Furthermore, 84 per cent of our packaging cartons are already made from recycled paper

Energy efficiency:&Our portfolio consists entirely of LED lighting for residential, workplace and outdoor areas, and we are constantly working to further increase the proportion of higher energy efficiency classes in our range.

Recyclability: Our products are designed so that materials and components can be recycled at the end of their service life.

Repairability: Already today, around 97 per cent of our lighting products can be repaired by qualified specialists.

Use of renewable sources

The use of renewable energy is a key component of our climate strategy. At all our German sites, as well as at other major locations, we already source 100 per cent of our electricity from renewable energy sources. In addition, we are investing in photovoltaic systems at selected sites to generate our own electricity and are continuing to drive forward their gradual expansion. For the remaining sites, options for switching to renewable energy have been assessed or have already been implemented.

Social responsibility

Our business practices are always guided by the ten principles of the UN Global Compact . This includes fundamental responsibility in the areas of human rights, labor standards, the environment, and anti-corruption. Since 2017, we have been a member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and committed to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which address the world's global challenges. In this decade of action, we have defined our goals in line with the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
